Campaign websites typically fall into one of two categories; they contain either too little or a very large amount of information. In the case of the latter, long narratives can go on and on, leaving many viewers overwhelmed and unwilling to sort through reams of text.
With a unique life story and detailed positions on many issues, Tom Simmons' goal was to pack it all into his website. The challenge for me was to come up with a design that could present all that detail in a format that would not turn off viewers. The solution was to build a structure that compartmentalizes the information into layers that allow the viewer to read as much or as little as desired.
